Oshkosh sees drop in 3rd-quarter sales

Oshkosh Corp. leaders today reported disappointment in their third-quarter 2026 sales, largely as a result of fire truck supply chain woes in its vocational business segment, CEO John Pfeifer said during an earnings call.

NGDV, the U.S. Postal Service’s new mail truck, saw a slight uptick of production between quarter two and three, Pfeifer said, adding that “key suppliers are a gating factor” to that ramp up.

Field said the transport segment’s yearly revenue expectations have been adjusted down to $2.3 billion as a result of lower production of the delivery vehicles. He added that Oshkosh expects another NGDV contract order this year.

The company now expects adjusted earnings per share for 2026 to be $8.50 to $9.50, down from last quarter’s expectation of $11.

Across Oshkosh’s segments, Pfeifer said the company is seeing high demand for fire trucks, airport products and access equipment, and it has multiyear contracts for its tactical vehicles in defense and postal vehicles in the transport sector.
