Milan postal worker answers call for help

MILAN, Tenn. — What started as a normal route turned into a heroic save, as one postal worker went above and beyond the call of duty.

In February, Milan letter carrier, Carlos Greenway, filled in on a colleague’s route when he encountered a cry for help.

Upon inspection, Greenway saw an elderly resident who had fallen and immediately jumped into action.

“I was just thinking, ‘what if that was my grandma. I want someone to be there to help her,’” Greenway said. “I had to drag her to her bed and lift her up and put her on her bed, and I just called 911, and I called my supervisor to let her know, then I just waited with her until they arrived.”

According to Greenway, the resident was stuck for about 30 minutes before he arrived.
