Mail carrier injured in postal truck crash

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – A mail carrier was injured in a postal truck crash Friday, February 21, according to Lynchburg Police.

Police responded at 3:30 p.m. to reports of a crash involving a postal truck and another vehicle in the area of Leesville Road. The other vehicle involved in the crash caught fire, according to police.

The driver of the fiery vehicle appeared to be unharmed, according to police. Police say they do not know the extent of the mail carrier’s injuries.

Information has not been released on the cause of the crash.
