United States Postal Service mail carrier Jill Spaeth’s knowledge of the neighborhood near Estrella Park and its residents was evident as she walked her route Wednesday afternoon.
“Betsy, she’s the sweetest,” Spaeth said, pointing to one home.
“Charlotte I haven’t seen in a while,” she said, pointing to another.
Spaeth has been delivering mail to the nearly same Loveland neighborhood for almost 15 years — Wilson Avenue to North Van Buren Avenue — and over time has developed quite the relationship with the residents along her route, who eventually became her very own neighbors.
“They are just so amazing,” Spaeth said. “When I’m having a bad day for some reason, spilled my coffee or something, then I get to my route and they are so sweet.”
In May, Loveland resident Morgan Cwieka posted in a Loveland Facebook group asking for help on where to submit feedback for the “sweetest, kindest, and most thoughtful USPS mail carrier.”
Without even saying her name, comments poured in about Spaeth — things like, “We love Jill!” and “I look forward to seeing her!”
