MIDDLETOWN — A woman who has delivered the mail in Middletown for nearly 40 years has been named the town’s 2025 Citizen of the Year.

Cornelia Hodson, who is retiring from the U.S. Postal Service, was selected by Town Council for the honor. She will be officially recognized at the town’s Fourth of July celebration at 6:30 p.m. in the town park.

“Cornelia’s passion, reliability, and deep love for our town have left an impact that will be felt for generations,” Mayor Charles Harbaugh IV said in a media release.

Although she is retiring, “her commitment to Middletown is far from over,” he noted. “A tireless volunteer and community leader, she serves on our 4th of July Committee, Christmas Parade Committee, and the Middletown Planning Commission.”
