Long-time Excelsior postal clerk is saying hello to retirement

For just about 20 years, Excelsior Post Office customers have been greeted by one of the same friendly faces every day: Shelly Bauer.

The postal clerk, who lives in Carver, planted her roots at the busy corner of Excelsior at 545 2nd Street and stayed for all this time after making the move from the Spring Lake Post Office where she spent two years as a part-time clerk. Among her reasons for doing so include the community itself and the kindness they always offer.
