- Court says USPS moved forward with Global K9, American K-9
- And, ‘poor contract administration’ by USPS plagued award process
The US Postal Service is moving forward with Global K9 Protection Group LLC and American K-9 Detection Services to perform explosive detection services contracts following the termination of a rival, the US Court of Federal Claims said Thursday.
K2 Solutions Inc., an initial award winner, was blocked from performing its contract because of material misrepresentations, the US Court of Federal Claims said Dec. 22.
Because USPS terminated K2’s contract for default Jan. 24, K2’s motion to intervene in the case is moot. The “four-year bid protest saga” has now “finally reached its end,” Judge Ryan T. Holte said.
Federal Claims judge criticized the U. S. Postal Service on Thursday for poor communication and management related to a canine mail screening procurement.
