Impatient Postal Service Customer Allegedly Attacks Worker

(WGTD)—A 29-year-old Racine man with a criminal history is accused of attacking a postal worker in her van last week.

According to the criminal complaint, the worker was sorting mail inside the vehicle in the 2000 blk. of Carter St. when she was startled by a man who approached her from behind. Deion McMorris purportedly closed the sliding door, wrapped his arms around the woman and place her in a “head lock.” McMorris then allegedly fled to a home on the street after taking two packages.

Confronted by investigators, McMorris purportedly confessed, saying he’d been upset because he was waiting for a package.

At the time of the crime, McMorris had cases pending for car theft and robbery.

A $10,000 bond was set Monday on the latest charges.
