Frustration grows over package delays at Indianapolis USPS hub

Customers say their deliveries are getting stuck in Indianapolis, or even arriving in the city only to be sent elsewhere again.

INDIANAPOLIS — Right now, shipping services are slammed across the country as the holiday rush enters its final week. However, here in Indianapolis, people claim their packages are getting stuck at the new United States Postal Service distribution hub off Brookville Road.
For the last week, complaints have filled social media with customers asking, “What’s going on?”

One person told 13News their package has been sitting at the facility since Dec. 2. Another person said it’s been 10 days since they received any update from the mail carrier.
Brownsburg resident Ron Mathews said he’s been waiting for a package since Dec. 4. It made it to Indianapolis, but then bounced back and forth from Pennsylvania.
“It’s been back and forth now three or four times,” he said. “All the problems seem to be the Indianapolis hub.”
And it’s not just customers. Businesses are also running into problems.
