Rachelle Roy, a 26-year postal worker for USPS in Toledo, says in her career, there’s only been two route cancellations due to cold weather.
TOLEDO, Ohio — As northwest Ohio braces for a stretch of bitter cold and heavy snow this weekend, one Toledo mail carrier says delivering through winter weather is simply part of the job, even when temperatures dip into dangerous territory.
Rachelle Roy has been a mail carrier for more than two decades. Since 2000, she’s walked her route through heat waves, rainstorms and countless winter cold snaps. This week, with over 6 inches of snow in the forecast and wind chills expected to plunge into the negatives, Roy is preparing once again to layer up and head out.
