Fire reported at troubled Palmetto USPS facility

The United States Postal Service confirmed a fire broke out at the Palmetto Regional Processing and Distribution Center (RPDC) over the weekend. That facility has been blamed for many of the mail delays North Georgia has experienced over the months.

It happened on Sunday. USPS claimed it was a minor electrical fire that was quickly put out by the local management team.

There were no injuries reported, nor damage to mail, packages or the facility itself.
