KANSAS CITY, Mo. — FOX4 received a tip that federal agents raided the U.S. Postal Service distribution center in Kansas City, Missouri, last month.
The tip comes right after a FOX4 Problem Solvers report that aired Tuesday about customer complaints with postal service distribution centers across the metro.
FOX4 has confirmed with the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General that the OIG led law enforcement operations at the USPS distribution center located at 1700 Cleveland Ave on the evening of Sept. 9.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service confirmed with FOX4 it provided a supportive role in the operation.
Deputy Special Agent in Charge of the USPS OIG, Ryan Petry, provided the following statement regarding the investigation:
“The U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (OIG) routinely conducts law enforcement operations at postal facilities to ensure the integrity of the mail. The OIG led such an operation on the evening of Sept. 9.“
