Family mourns postal worker, mother of 4 killed in Decatur crash

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The family of a postal worker who was killed while on her route called her “an angel on Earth.”

DeKalb County Police said Tanisha Cade, 40, was killed about 7 p.m. Monday when another vehicle slammed into her postal vehicle, overturning it.

Cade’s family told Atlanta News First she had been a postal worker for two years and loved her job, but more than anything she was a mom who loved her four children.

“She was an angel on Earth,” said Antoine Fortson, who brought an angel statue to a memorial on Larkspur Terrace and Iris Lane, where Cade was killed.

“She’s the mother of my kids, my best friend. She lit up a room when she came through, the red lipstick, she was the person that was gonna bring joy,” said Fortson.

Fortson said family was alerted immediately when it happened, on their iPhones.
