Duplin County hit & run body discovered by postal worker

DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A hit and run investigation is underway after a body was found by a postal worker along a Duplin County highway.

The Highway Patrol says 25-year-old Noah Inman’s body was found lying in a ditch off NC 24 Monday morning.

Troopers says the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office got a call just before 9 a.m. from a postal work delivering mail who found the body.

Sheriff Stratton Stokes says vehicle parts were found nearby, but no vehicle was there.

Stokes says when Highway Patrol arrived, the Duplin County man was already dead.

Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, according to Stokes.
