Drivers face backups after truck spills mail along I-65 in NW Indiana

LAKE STATION, Ill. — Drivers in Northwest Indiana faced some backups ahead of rush hour on Thursday morning after a crash involving a semi along I-65.

According to Indiana State Police, the crash unfolded in the northbound lanes of I-65, near the ramp to westbound I-94 along the border of Lake Station and Gary.

The truck, which troopers said was carrying US mail, split open amid the crash and spilled packages and mail along the roadway.
