Driver pleads guilty in DUI crash that killed White Mills Postmaster Eizabeth Struble

The driver of the car that killed the White Mills postmaster in a crash last October has pleaded guilty in the Wayne County Court of Common Pleas to a felony of homicide by DUI and other charges.

The defendant, Tyler Nathaniel Canfield, 28, of Honesdale, awaits sentencing, set for Oct. 16, for the death of Elizabeth A. Struble, who was 61 and lived in Blooming Grove.

The court docket indicates that on Aug. 21, Canfield pleaded guilty to a second-degree felony of homicide by DUI; as well as homicide by vehicle, third-degree felony; escape, third-degree felony; DUI (second offense), first-degree misdemeanor; and a summary violation of reckless driving. He is being represented by a public defender, Steven Burlein.
