Dozens of mail trucks escort beloved Auburn letter carrier on her final route

OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL) — One by one, United States Postal Service trucks rolled into Garden Hills Cemetery on Monday, forming a line that stretched along the roadway.

They were not there to deliver mail.

They were there for 65 year old Linda Jayne Monroe.

The longtime Auburn letter carrier passed away February 19. After funeral services at First Baptist Church Opelika, dozens of coworkers escorted her to her final resting place in a procession of mail trucks — a final route for a woman who spent 23 years serving the community.
