Crews extinguish small fire at Atlanta post office

ATLANTA — Fire crews extinguished a small fire at the U.S. Post Office on Moreland Avenue in Atlanta on Monday.

According to Captain Monterio Stidwell of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, the fire began outside the building.

No injuries or casualties resulted from the fire, and postal employees were able to evacuate the building, according to Stidwell.

Video obtained by 11Alive viewer Johnathan Carey shows fire crews spraying the top of the building with a hose and damage to the front near the roof.

At least one lane of traffic on Moreland Avenue was partially blocked as first responders dealt with the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
