Coroner identifies U.S. Postal Service worker who collapsed and died near Lake Forest

The coroner has released the identity of a U.S. Postal Service worker in his 40s who collapsed and died at his work near Lake Forest as the postal service says they are saddened by his death.

The Libertyville Fire Department responded around 9:02 p.m. Monday to the U.S. Post Office Carrier Annex, 27848 Bradley Road in unincorporated Lake Forest, for a report of a medical emergency.

Coroner’s officials said a postal worker collapsed in the parking lot of his workplace.

He appeared to be having a medical event, which was witnessed by a co-worker who called 911.

Lake County Chief Deputy Coroner Steve Newton identified him on Friday as Christopher Montano, 46, of Waukegan.

Paramedics arrived and found Montano unresponsive. Lifesaving measures were performed but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
