Constitution-backed Postal Service at risk of dismantling by privatizers

The Postal Service is so important that it was authorized in the Constitution. It’s long been one of our most respected government institutions. But because it is a universal service that billionaires can’t extract wealth from, they want to dismantle it.

In his first term, Donald Trump installed privatizer Louis DeJoy as Postmaster General, and stacked the USPS Board of Governors with loyalists―slowing service and increasing prices.

Now, in Trump’s second term, the privatizers hope to sell it off, making service worse for millions, especially seniors who often get medications through the mail, and completely out of reach in many rural areas.

The privatizers don’t care about that. Their goal is to extract as much of the wealth of America and put it in the hands of a few plutocrats.
