Congressman Mike Lawler Visits Monsey Post Office, Pledges to Address Staffing Shortages and Long Lines

Congressman Mike Lawler visited the Monsey Post Office, where he met with the postmaster and staff to discuss ongoing concerns about long lines, staffing shortages, and delays in accessing postal services.

Lawler acknowledged the frustration many residents have experienced over the years, noting that the Monsey facility is the busiest post office in Rockland County, handling more than 50 delivery routes daily and processing a significant amount of mail flowing through Rockland and Orange counties.

During his visit, Lawler praised postal employees for their dedication and hard work while emphasizing that staffing shortages have contributed to the challenges facing the facility.

The congressman announced plans to meet with the United States Postmaster General to discuss increasing staffing levels at the Monsey Post Office and other postal facilities throughout Rockland County.

“We’re going to be meeting with the Postmaster General of the United States to discuss what we can do to get more staffing here in Monsey and the post offices throughout Rockland County,” Lawler said.
