Child struck, killed by US Mail box truck in Cape Coral, FL

Lee County, FL — A child has been killed after she was struck by a US Mail box truck while riding her bicycle at Santa Barbara Boulevard and Mid Cape Terrace in Cape Coral.

Cape Coral Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the crash at 2:39 PM Wednesday.

A CCPD supervisor confirmed that the victim is a minor, but couldn’t state her exact age as next-of-kin hadn’t yet been notified.

Southbound lanes of Santa Barbara Blvd are shut down at SE 2nd St.

The Cape Coral Police Department is investigating.
