Bat Cave post office will reopen after post-Helene repairs complete, USPS confirms

BAT CAVE, N.C. (WLOS) — The post office in Bat Cave will reopen at its longstanding location along the Broad River, officials confirmed to News 13.

After Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina in September 2024, a total of 21 post offices in the region suffered damage, according to Philip Bogenberger with the U.S. Postal Service. This includes the Bat Cave location, which has remained closed for nearly 11 months.

Bogenberger said the Alexander and Gerton post offices, which both sustained damage from Helene, recently reopened
