DETROIT (FOX 2) – A fully automatic machine gun has been reported missing. It’s a powerful weapon, and now no one knows where it is.
Big picture view:
It costs $25,000, and it is rare and powerful and the person who has it might not even know exactly what they’re dealing with. The mystery surrounding this missing gun is wide open.
The gun was last seen at the U.S. Postal Service in Detroit.
“It’s next to impossible to lose a registered package. If they can’t find it, someone took it,” said owner Steve Thompson.
Thompson is a licensed firearm dealer in Ohio, and he says tracking information went dark in February in Detroit while the Uzi was headed to a buyer in Florida.
“The odds of it falling into the wrong hands and making national news with my name attached to it, I’m not looking forward to something like that,” he said.
