An autopsy report has confirmed excessive heat played a role in the death of a Dallas postal worker over the summer.

We found the Postal Service did not obtain security clearances for contract drivers; contract drivers did not have valid and properly displayed identification badges; and proper forms were not always completed to document badge irregularities.

MEREDITH — A United States Postal Service mail truck caught fire in Meredith on Friday morning, destroying both the vehicle and a “considerable” amount of mail still inside. The driver was able to exit the vehicle and was not injured, according to Meredith Fire Chief Ken Jones.
