The Postal Service offers outbound international money transfer services through both international paper money orders and Sure Money, an electronic money transfer service.

The growth in international ecommerce, however, is not translating into increases in international package volumes for most of the world’s postal operators, including the Postal Service. In fact, USPS’ international volume is in an unprecedented decline.

Tracking the Postal Service: An Update on the Delivering for America Plan

Thousands of letter carriers at the U.S. Postal Service are starting to see new schedules that have reduced their hours and cut their pay, causing significant anxiety within the workforce. 

We recommended management develop package status descriptions that explain missing scan events and enhance explanations for messages such as for “Out for Delivery”, “In Transit”, or nondescriptive facility names on its tracking websites.  

The Postal Service is required to convert all city carrier assistants in the identified installations to part-time flexible career status as soon as practicable, but no later than the first day of the second full pay period following the date of the respective agreement.

On April 20, the Postal Regulatory Commission opened a Public Inquiry docket to examine the Postal Service’s Delivering for America plan, particularly the initiative to relocate carriers from post offices to large Sorting & Delivery Centers.
