BERKELEY - A U.S. Postal Service truck burst into flames in the South Seaside Park section this afternoon, prompting an emergency response from police and area firefighters.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is proposing "dramatic change to every aspect of the postal environment," says the USPS regulator that wants to ensure added scrutiny.

Our objective was to assess the management of the inventory, security, and utilization of the Commission’s smartphones. We used a combination of data analytics, interviews, and control tests to determine if appropriate controls were in place and functioning as intended.

The Postal Service operates more than 31,000 retail facilities across the country. This is a huge network, larger than Subway, McDonald’s, or Starbucks. With so many facilities, it’s only natural that serious problems will occasionally interfere with operations.

As we continue to utilize every possible avenue to stop this violence against our members, we are continuously reminded of another dangerous threat to the safety and health of most letter carriers – excessive heat.

MAIL TRUCK GOES UP IN FLAMES at Buffalo Soldier Trail and St Andrews Drive this morning at 10:15am. The driver heard a pop in the engine and then smoke. He pulled over and got out of the vehicle safely and watched it go up in flames.
