USPS OIG – Election Mail Readiness for the 2022 Mid-Term Elections

Our objective was to evaluate the Postal Service’s readiness for timely processing of Election Mail for the 2022 mid-term election to be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

USPS mail truck fire – Ashby, MA

Today the Ashby Police Department and Ashby FIRE EMS Association Inc. were dispatched to a USPS vehicle on fire and close to a residence. AFD arrived and was able to extinguish the fire before it made it to the house. The house sustained damage to the siding due to the heat of the fire. Great Job Ashby Fire.

UPMA has been discussing with Postal Headquarters EAS salaries, Pay For Performance, and NPA for many months. Today the long-awaited announcement that, effective September 24th, 2022, all non-bargaining employees will receive a 3% pay increase in their base (even if they are at the top of their scale) came out.

USPS EAS and Pay Band Non-bargaining To Get 3% Pay Increase Effective September 24, 2022

Effective September 24, 2022 and reflecting on an employee's October 14, 2022, pay statement, all EAS and Pay Band Non-bargaining unit employees will receive a three percent salary increase regardless of their current salary maximum.
