The United States Postal Service is dealing with a heavy backlog of mail as it works to get operations back up and running following Hurricane Helene.

Mail theft is a growing problem here and across the country with postal workers at risk in some cases as we've seen in Western New York.

The U.S. Postal Service is advising all mailers use of Priority Mail Express and/or shipping Lives (birds, insects, etc.) into the Florida region, is embargoed until Hurricane Milton passes and the impacts of the storm can be evaluated.

Every day, thousands of trucks contracted by the United States Postal Service (USPS) are on the road carrying mail, but not even the postal service knows who is driving for them or if the trucks are safe enough to be on the road.

INDIANAPOLIS—Justin Crain, 29, of Indianapolis, has been convicted of a felony and sentenced to 180 days of home detention, followed by three years of probation, 40 hours of community service, and a $5,000 fine after pleading guilty to mail theft by a U.S. Postal Service employee.
