A postal employee successfully performed the Heimlich maneuver on a choking co-worker

Mail Processing Clerk Kharalyn Ford was recently in the break room of the Memphis, TN, Network Distribution Center when a co-worker dining near her began to choke and gasp for air.

Ford called out for help and performed the Heimlich maneuver, eventually dislodging the obstruction.

The employee was grateful for Ford’s quick response and declined further medical treatment.
