A day in the life of a postal worker

As you unwrap your Christmas presents today, take a moment to thank the people who made it all possible—especially the postal employees who work tirelessly to ensure your gifts arrive on time. For Reggie Torres, a 28-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service, the holiday season is the busiest time of year. But it’s also a time to connect with the community and share in the joy of the season. As a carrier at the Pacifica Post Office, Torres has become an integral part of his route, known for his friendly smile, dedication and commitment to delivering more than just mail.

“They’re like family,” said Torres.

Torres has seen countless holiday seasons come and go, and with nearly three decades of service under his belt, he’s no stranger to the challenges the holidays bring. Yet, despite the long hours and extra deliveries, it’s the relationships he’s built with his customers and the sense of community that he says make it all worthwhile.
