12 Black Icons Who’ve Been Honored with Stamps by the USPS

It’s Black History Month, which means we’re taking the time to honor Black icons who dedicated their lives to making our world a better place to live.

Buildings, schools and institutions have been erected in their name, and several civil rights leaders, musicians, politicians and activists have been memorialized by the United States Postal Service with stamps that celebrate the work they did.

From abolitionists such as Frederick Douglass to pioneering sportsmen such as Arthur Ashe to civil rights icons such as Rosa Parks, see some of the heroes who’ve been honored with stamps by the USPS.
