USPS employee says he’s waiting for meeting with union, corporate officials after being placed on leave
FAIRFIELD, Ohio (WXIX) – A Greater Cincinnati mail carrier remains off work after being placed on unpaid leave for expressing winter weather safety concerns on Facebook following this week’s winter storm.
Jason Thompson, who has worked as a mail carrier for more than two decades, was put on leave Monday after posting his frustrations on Facebook about working conditions during the Jan. 24-25 winter storm.
He was asked to return to work hours later after a FOX19 NOW story aired, but has not yet returned.
Thompson said he is taking time off because he wants a meeting set up between himself, his union leader, and corporate officials to discuss what happened.
