NORTH ALABAMA (WHNT) — U.S. Representative Dale Strong (R, AL-05) says the United States Postal Service is increasing staff after complaints over mail service in parts of North Alabama.

In a statement on social media, Strong said the USPS is planning to surge staff into North Alabama to help address issues with mail service over the holidays.

Last week, News 19 talked to residents in Athens who said they have not been receiving their mail on time, along with other issues.

Those residents said they did not blame the staff but said they feel local post offices are understaffed.
