The tight-knit community of Warren is rallying to support the family of Chace Soignet, a 26-year-old postal truck driver who tragically lost his life in a collision. The crash occurred late Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and State Highway 327 in Hardin County. According to state troopers, Soignet was driving his mail truck west on Highway 327 when he reportedly disregarded a stop sign and collided with a Ford F-350 pickup truck traveling north on Highway 69. The impact was on the driver’s side of Soignet’s vehicle, and he later died at a hospital. The driver of the pickup and three passengers, including a 13-year-old, were not seriously injured.

The U.S. Postal Service expressed its deep sadness over the loss, offering counseling services to employees at the Silsbee post office where Soignet worked. In Warren, where Soignet graduated from high school in 2018, educators and coaches remember him fondly. Jimbo Swinney, Soignet’s former principal, said, “I can honestly say that the fact that he walked our halls made our school a better place.” Brad Schroeder, Soignet’s former coach, described him as “a unique individual and a good guy.”
