‘Devoted’ postal carrier killed in Pickens County crash

A postal worker from Aliceville is dead in the wake of a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Pickens County.

The crash happened just after noon on Alabama 17 near the 190-mile marker, about 1 mile north of Aliceville.

April F. Box, 57, was fatally injured when the U.S. Post Office vehicle she was driving got hit by a pickup. Box was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
