Providence postal worker and artist spreads kindness with free prints at window

A Providence postal worker with an amazing artistic talent is sharing his love for prints with others.

Since he was young, 57-year-old Richard Hanson of North Kingstown said he’s always had a passion for drawing.

“I have many books I have filled up over the years of things I’ve drawn,” said Hanson. “I like to take pictures of a lot of things, and then draw them too. That’s why I bought the phone that I have. I love taking pictures of nature, sunsets, and clouds. I originally wanted to try to take pictures so I can have my own reference material so I wouldn’t have to be taking anything off the internet.”

Hanson uses a ball point pen to sketch many of his drawings. He puts his own twice on them.
