EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A U.S. postal worker accused of driving drunk and crashing a mail truck in East Longmeadow is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
The reports stated that the crash involved a U.S. Postal Service mail truck and a pedestrian. The driver of the mail truck had allegedly left the area of the crash heading north on Elm Street. Officers arriving at the gas station began to administer first aid to the victim, who had sustained serious injuries from the crash.
The victim was brought by the Longmeadow Fire Department to Baystate Medical Center to be treated. He suffered bleeding in the brain and currently has 15 staples in his head, which will put him out of work as a car mechanic for some time.
