Postmaster General David Steiner visited nine USPS facilities in Colorado and Texas last month, part of his focus on strengthening the organization’s service to the American public.

At each stop on his tour, Steiner met with employees and discussed his priorities for the Postal Service, including operating in a financially sustainable manner, investing in the organization and its employees, and improving service — which received special emphasis.

“Service is foundational to our success,” Steiner said. “As I shared with our employees, our customers are the American people, and so improving the service we offer them will lead to more volume and more revenue. It’s why our management team is committed to continuous improvement in our operational performance.”

During his Colorado visits, Steiner was accompanied by Amber McReynolds, chairwoman of the USPS Board of Governors, and postal executives, including Isaac Cronkhite, chief processing and distribution officer; John DiPeri, Western Region’s processing operations vice president; and Ed Ruiz, WestPac Area vice president.

At several facilities, such as the Denver Processing and Distribution Center and the Golden, CO, Sorting and Delivery Center, Steiner talked with employees on the workroom floor, where he discussed the importance of delivering good service and sought their feedback.

The postmaster general said these conversations were a highlight of his tour.

“Since I began this job, it has become clear that the hardworking women and men of the Postal Service are our greatest asset. I want them to feel proud of their work and this organization at the end of every workday,” he said.

Steiner, who began his tenure as the 76th postmaster general in July, said he is looking forward to visiting more USPS workplaces in the weeks to come.

“We’re just getting started,” he said.
