KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – An employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Kansas City has been charged in a life-threatening shooting at a coworker’s home over the weekend.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Sunday, Sept. 7, indicate that Antoinette E. Tabron, 30, of Kansas City, has been charged with assault in the first degree and armed criminal action.

A probable cause statement filed by the Kansas City Police Department revealed that around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, emergency crews received reports of a shooting.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they said they found a female victim with a critical gunshot wound to her torso. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she immediately underwent surgery.

Law enforcement officials said they found that Tabron had been at a coworker’s house following a work party earlier that day. However, an argument broke out between Tabron and one of her coworker’s guests.

KCPD noted that a witness reported that there had been no physical altercation before Tabron shot the victim. Another neighbor reported he heard the argument before a single shot was fired.
