The Post Office in Youngstown’s Cornersburg neighborhood is temporarily closed after a vehicle crashed into the front of the building on Thursday.
A call came into the 911 dispatch center at around 9 a.m. reporting the crash at the shopping plaza on the 3300 block of Canfield Road.
When first responders arrived, they found a car with front-end damage behind a crossover SUV that had gone through the doors and into the post office lobby.
Investigators say the SUV struck a parked car before running into the post office. Both cars were towed from the scene. The driver of the SUV that struck the door was taken home by a relative.
The Postal Service said in a statement that it is working with the landlord to make repairs.
