Missouri legislators say they’re still working to address issues with the U.S. Postal Service

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – We’re getting more complaints about the U.S. Postal Service and its delivery service in Springfield.

It’s an issue we’ve been working on for you for months.

According to Missouri Representative Eric Burleson’s office the resignation of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy put a halt to the progress the oversight committee was making.

We reached out to Representative Eric Burleson’s office for those answers. He wasn’t available for an on-camera interview but sent us this statement that reads:

“The continued failures at the United States Postal Service are beyond frustrating, they are unacceptable. The resignation of the Postmaster General in March stalled critical progress the Oversight committee was making in understanding and addressing the USPS’s systemic operational failures. I am hopeful that David Steiner, announced as the 76th Postmaster General and CEO, can restore reliable service. While we await his formal start in July, I am scheduling a meeting with the Springfield Postmaster to directly present the numerous complaints I have received from my constituents. We all deserve answers why the USPS can’t deliver the mail. That’s their job.”
