Postal worker arrested on DUI charge after drinking vodka at house party on delivery route

MELBOURNE, Fla. – A USPS worker was arrested earlier this month in Melbourne after she drank alcohol at a house party on her route and was later caught driving the wrong way in traffic, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Katelyne Dye, 33, was arrested April 12 on a charge of DUI.

According to the affidavit, Melbourne police were notified that a USPS mail truck was driving in the opposite travel lane on South Harbor City Boulevard and that the driver was throwing plastic cups out of the vehicle.

When officers arrived, they saw the mail truck driving west on East University Boulevard before making a U-turn to head east, the affidavit said. Police said the truck “swerved in and out of its lane” and traveled into the opposite lane.
