Lee County drivers alarmed by scattered USPS mail at busy intersection

Crates of USPS mail were scattered in a Lee County intersection early Wednesday morning, leaving drivers shocked and concerned.

The mail was found at the corner of Treeline Avenue and Daniels Parkway.

“You’ve got mail!…all over the road,” said WINK News reporter Maddie Herron, describing the scene.

Milagros Rivera, a 911 caller, said there were “probably more than 200 packages all over the floor.”

Rivera and her friends narrowly avoided hitting a large black crate as they drove through the intersection just after 1 a.m. She described the situation as dangerous.

“Had someone been going the 50 miles an hour or higher… they just would have hit it head-on, and someone could have lost a life,” Rivera said.

The group decided to call 911 due to the potential for a tragic incident.
