Former Worland postal employee accused of stealing from nine victims

WORLAND — A Worland woman, Susan Barrett, born in 1993, is now the defendant in two cases involving fraudulent credit card payments withdrawn from unsuspecting Worland residents.

According to an affidavit used in the first case, Barrett was initially arrested on Feb. 27, 2025, following an investigation into fraudulent withdrawals taken from a victim’s bank account.

The victim gave law enforcement permission to review their banking information at Pinnacle Bank, and suspicious charges from six different credit card companies were discovered. Each company was contacted to verify the identity of the card holder, and all six confirmed it was Barrett.

Allegedly, law enforcement found Barrett’s name connected to 19 withdrawals from the victim’s account.

They were carried out between July 8 and Nov. 29, 2024, adding up to $15,000.93.

The affidavit alleged that Barrett used her employment at the United States Postal Service to gain access to the victim’s banking statements and obtain their account number and routing number, then entered this information as a billing option for her credit cards.
