Lubbock postal carrier pleads guilty to mail theft, including Starbucks gift card and cash

LUBBOCK, Texas — A Lubbock postal carrier, Ernest Brawley, took a guilty plea in court on Friday for accusations of committing mail theft in late 2024.

Back on February 12, 2025, Brawley was indicted on four counts of Theft of Mail by a United States Postal Service (USPS) Employee.

On January 16, 2025, Brawley was detained and the $60 was found in his wallet. The factual resume said Brawley had admitted to embezzling items and spending or gifting them to family for several months and possibly a year.

He resigned from USPS that day.
