Postal Service Honors Letter Carrier Robert Medrano for over 35 Years of Dedicated Service

BRADY, TX – As part of the United States Postal Service’s “For the Long Haul” initiative, the Brady Post Office proudly nominates Letter Carrier Robert Medrano for this recognition.

“For the Long Haul” is an initiative designed to honor the remarkable dedication of long-serving USPS employees like Robert, who have become integral parts of their communities through their unwavering commitment and service excellence.

Robert is a dedicated Letter Carrier who has faithfully served the Brady community for over 35 years. He started as a Part-Time Flexible Clerk/Carrier in 1986 and was promoted to career Letter Carrier after one year. His vast knowledge of postal operations and genuine care for the community have made him an indispensable part of the Brady Post Office.

A notable milestone in Robert’s career was the accomplishment of driving one million miles, or 30 cumulative years, without a preventable incident. This achievement earned him the prestigious National Safety Council’s Million Mile Award, an award given only to those with a stellar driving record and dedicated attentiveness to working safely.

Robert is best known by his colleagues as being loyal, dependable, and hard-working. He is always ready for work with a smile on his face and positive disposition. Over the years, Robert has developed lasting relationships with his customers, as well, going above and beyond to ensure their mail is handled with care and reliability. His unwavering commitment and exceptional service have made him a beloved figure in the Brady community.

Always looking for a way to help others, Robert has organized the annual food drive in conjunction with other community outreach agencies for the past several years. He has also served as council president at St. Patrick Catholic Church for twenty years.

Robert is married to his wife of 30 years, Maria, and they are proud parents of two successful daughters, Monica and Cristina. Outside of work, Robert likes to spend time with his family and give back to the community. He also enjoys fishing and dancing.

The Brady Post Office is proud to acknowledge Robert Medrano for the outstanding mentorship, comradery, and service he has provided to his colleagues and community since his first day on the job.

“Robert exemplifies the dedication and community spirit that the Postal Service strives to embody,” said Brady Postmaster Casey Shackelford. “He is always happy to see his customers, and consistently provides the best service to them.”
