Laramie County Postal Carrier Arrested For Stealing Mail

A Laramie County mail carrier has been arrested in connection with the theft of multiple mail items.

That’s according to a release from the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigation Started In November

According to sheriff’s office spokesman Brandon Warner, the investigation started on November 11 with a report of mail fraud in the 2300 Block of Bridger Drive. The investigation led Corporal Moniz to the Cheyenne Menards store. Menards gave investigators photos and video of a suspect using stolen rebate checks. Surveillance footage picked up a suspect going to a white mail carrier van.

Corporal Moniz took the images to a Postal Service facility, where postal employees identiified the suspect as Louis Hall.

That led to an arrest warrant being issued for Hall. Warner says a search of Hall’s residence turned up boxes of mail that had been postdated from several years ago, along with items illegally purchased.

Warner says deputies are working with postal inspectors from Denver in the on-going investigation into the case
