Hughes & Coleman Hometown Hero: Christy French

LEWISBURG, Ky. (WBKO) – Life in Christy French’s hometown of Lewisburg is more than just routine — it’s about family, community, and a deep-seated desire to make a difference.

Born in Russellville and raised in the quiet streets of Lewisburg, French grew up surrounded by a sense of safety and togetherness. Today, she works to keep that spirit alive through her many community efforts.

“My grandparents lived in Lewisburg, and now my whole family is here,” French said. “It’s like family everywhere.”

As a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, French connects with residents beyond delivering letters and packages. Over time, these interactions have transformed her relationships with many of her customers into close bonds.

“You get to know people, and they become family,” she said. “If I break down in someone’s yard, I know they’ll help me out. That’s just the kind of community we have.”

French’s dedication to service extends far beyond her postal route. As the bake sale coordinator for Spayed and Aid of Kentucky, she’s become a vital part of efforts to spay, neuter, and feed pets for families who may be struggling financially.
