Chicago Mail Carrier Stable after Being Shot, USPS Offering $50K Reward for Clues

CHICAGO – A USPS mail carrier is in stable condition after being shot during an armed robbery Tuesday evening.

According to investigators, the incident took place on the 3200 block of North Kildare Avenue in the Kilbourn Park neighborhood, prompting a quick response from the Chicago Police Department.

Details surrounding the incident are limited as the investigation is ongoing. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a substantial reward of up to $50,000 for any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting.

This was not an isolated event, as another mail carrier was robbed earlier in the day in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, on the 1800 block of North Sawyer Avenue.

The USPS mail carrier injured in the shooting was swiftly transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he is now in stable condition.
